Darius Delacruz, having just returned from his freshman year at college and politically empowered with Pinoy Pride, finds no identification with his assimilated suburban Filipino American family - save for his grandfather and his penchant for playing the Lotto. A rousing award-winner at the 2001 Film Festival, THE FLIP SIDE is a touching coming-of-age tale of suburban identity that features a touching performance by the late Peping Baclig (a World War II war veteran who survived the Bataan Death March) as Lolo (grandfather). THE FLIP SIDE offers a witty, no-holds barred take on race, assimilation and the Filipino American family.
